U.E.A.   P.G.C.E.  led to teaching in primary schools and running community arts projects including the ‘Paston Country ‘ printmaking and poetry project up  and the Cromer ‘Artlights’ project  until 2008.

At this point I moved from printmaking and digital film and community art projects to exploring ceramics due to health.  This meant laying the past aside

I came home to enjoying oil painting and drawing and developed a love of ceramics for the first time.  It gave me a new way to explore the fascinating world of sea and beach so near to my new home in North Norfolk.

I’ve worked as an artist for as many years as I can remember because I’ve always been seduced by the colours and shapes I see in the world around.  But until I moved so near to the sea in North Norfolk four years ago, I never realised how amazing the sky is when it reflects the endlessly moving water or the comic contrast between puny children laughing and splashing or shivering in the sea and all that space!

The beach too holds so many different shapes and colours, the small worlds inside each pebble shaped by waves and aeons of time to arrive here and now on this beach.  Then there are the patterns in the sand left by the tide, mimicking the waves but in static yellow ochre and white gold.

I  work in ceramics and am currently making  sculptures based on beach stones for an exhibition, Cley ’17 running from 6th July to the 6th August 2017.
